Fly-in St. Stephan

In total some 30 Ruschmeyer aircraft were built. 14 of these flew to Switzerland on 3 September 2004 for a week-end of flying and sharing the fun. This meeting of aircraft owners was organized by Thomas Morf and Andreas Reinhard.

Eindhoven - Grenchen

Grenchen was the airport in Switzerland where the aircraft owners met for the first time.

Grenchen - St. Stephan

I felt rather anxious to be flying into a valley which ends up in mountains four kilometers high.

However, flying past these green pastures turned out to be an exhilarating experience.

In this valley we make our 180 degrees turn from downwind to final.

St. Stephan is a former military airfield

Andreas Reinhard heads a company Prospective Concepts, specialising in wing structures getting their rigidity and flexibility using pressurised air. Shown here is an ultra-light floatplane with such a wing. Semi-circle in front of the hangar of Prospective Concepts

St. Stephan - Samedan

The next day was stunningly bright and sunny. Endless visibility and no wind. The route from St. Stephan to Samedan is via the Eiger and the Jungfrau. We flew mostly at 12000 feet.

We turn away from the moutain. The building on top of the Jungfraujoch is visible, end of a true railway!
